Constructs production elements such as scenery and props using a variety of materials like woods, metals, plastics and fabrics; operates
power/hand tools and machinery.
Plans, supervises and participates in the construction and assembly of stage sets, electrical equipment, and new theater installations.
Develops and implements use of technical illustrations, drafting, descriptions, and plans for construction.
Maintains shop power/hand tools and large equipment, keeping in safe working order for staff and students to use; repairs tools and
equipment when possible; seeks/contracts with outside repair businesses when necessary.
Supervises and trains students in the use of facility-related equipment such as workshop, lighting, sound, and rigging; oversees and
participates in set construction in workshop and theater areas.
Provides instructional staff with appropriate teaching materials; prepares stage and classroom for instructional, campus, and community
use.
Provides labor, production, and rental cost estimates.
Recommends and orders supplies and equipment; maintains, monitors and organizes inventory.
Monitors supply budget; initiates payment of invoices; monitors departmental income receipts.
Provides technical advice to groups using the theater; ensures proper, safe use and reports any misuse/damage to the facility as necessary.
Performs related duties as assigned.

Stage Technician / Automation Technician / Technical Supervisor

As per contract:

The Automation Technician is responsible for the movement of all automated stage equipment, rigging and safety devices, and safety of personnel on stage.
Operate the Stage Automation control system in a safe and effective manner. Manages the system during rehearsals, shows, set up etc. to ensure maximum safety for all involved.
Directs all scenic changeovers and ensures they are completed in a safe and timely manner.
Manages the inspection of scenic installations after changeovers with Technical Supervisor to ensure that all props and equipment are secure and safe.
Assists Electronics Engineer Junior Entertainment with preventive maintenance and cleaning on all automation equipment, rigging & scenery with the help of the Technical staff. Assist other technicians as and when required.
Maintains up to date auditable records of all shows and changes. Must provide detailed and accurate Tracking Sheets to Technical Supervisor and/or Entertainment Production Manager. Inspect and keep updated Auditable records as per SEMS in regard to safety harness and lanyards.
In order to consistently exceed guest expectations and provide the highest levels of product and services, additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
